The overall SMT market is stable

According to the latest SIPLACE market analyses, for which specialists at ASM Assembly Systems GmbH & Co. KG regularly collect data from many external sources, the global demand for SMT placement equipment continued to be stable on a high level this fall. In China, the volume of new order bookings experienced a steady decline over the last four months, albeit on a level that continues to be high overall. Fortunately, the good business situation in other regions of the global market compensated for the restraint among Chinese electronics producers. Since the European markets were stable and the North and South American regions experienced strong growth, the SIPLACE experts computed a growth rate of over 20 percent for the global SMT market in October.

For the SIPLACE team, the recently concluded Productronica was a great success. After its acquisition by the ASM Group in early 2011, the equipment maker presented its products and solutions for the first time under its new banner as ASM Assembly Systems GmbH & Co. KG at the world’s leading trade show for the electronics manufacturing industry. In the "SIPLACE Challenge Arena", the team presented solutions for challenges from customers and show visitors "live". At the center of attention were SIPLACE’s latest placement equipment platforms as well as LED brightness class management with SIPLACE LED Pairing, the mobile and highly flexible SIPLACE Glue Feeder, SIPLACE Smart Pin Support, and flexible setup concepts. Many Productronica visitors also accepted SIPLACE’s invitation to learn more about current and future SIPLACE solutions at a special show hosted at the company’s Munich headquarters complex.

 With its new SIPLACE SX line, Switzerland-based company S-TEC electronics AG is upgrading its SMT production capacity from 10,000 to 50,000 units per product and year. The producer of industrial electronics, whose name has stood for innovative developments in the areas of hardware and software engineering since 1989, develops and manufactures controllers and panels for industrial applications. To increase its production capacity, the company decided to invest in a SIPLACE line because of its flexibility, constant throughput capacity and placement quality. Arteixo Telecom and SIPLACE
More capacity and flexibility with new SIPLACE SX-line

Arteixo Telecom, a Spanish development and manufacturing plant for electronic communication equipment invests in the modern, highly flexible SIPLACE SX placement technology. The new SIPLACE placement machines are part of a third line at the plant in As Pontes, Spain and help to increase the maximum capacity by more than 160 percent at 210.500 components per hour. Furthermore there is an additional gain for the Spanish electronics manufacturer in terms of flexibility and freedom in the manufacturing process: The new SIPLACE line has a feeder capacity of 120 slots per machine and enables Arteixo Telecom to place a wide range of components from 0,4mm x 0,2mm up to 200mm x 100mm.

SIPLACE invites Productronica visitors to in-house event in its Munich SIPLACE factory:

During this year’s Productronica trade show (November 15-18, Munich International Trade Fair Centre), ASM Assembly Systems GmbH & Co. KG (formerly Siemens Electronics Assembly Systems) will once again extend an invitation to visit its large SIPLACE in-house event at its Munich headquarters. Away from the Productronica’s hustle and bustle, visitors can learn about SIPLACE’s innovations and the latest trends in electronics manufacturing by attending workshops, taking tours and watching live demonstrations.

The event also provides an excellent opportunity for exchanging best practices with fellow producers. SIPLACE will even set up lines to demonstrate special solutions for the automobile industry, for flexible high-volume production environments and for highly cost-sensitive producers.
